Five Bertram 31s so far
The Bertram 31 is regarded as one of the finest boats ever made in its class. They built about 1,800 of them. Owners restore them well past what the finished boat is worth, because at that point it stopped being a boat and became the thing they are proudest of.
On the last one, the owner put roughly $700,000 into a hull that trades somewhere near $200,000 to $300,000. From where he sits it is the finest Bertram 31 in the world, and he is not wrong to see it that way.
Where we come in
Glass and acrylic is usually the part of a restoration that stalls. The originals are long gone, nobody stocks the shape, and the curve cannot be bought off a shelf.
- Curved real glass. Very few shops can do it. One curved window can run $15,000 to $50,000, and finding somebody who can make it at all is the hard part.
- Windows built from a photograph when the originals are already gone.
- 3D scan templating on site, when the shape has to come off the boat itself.
- Frames straightened, repaired, or built new in 316 stainless.
- Custom metal in stainless, aluminum and chrome.
- Doors, hatches and flybridge enclosures.
We work at the yard, in the water or on the hard, and we are insured to whatever the yard requires, across Fort Lauderdale, Miami and West Palm Beach.
Restoration in progress?
Send photographs of the openings and we will tell you what is possible. Curved, flat, odd shaped, or a window nobody has a pattern for any more.
